After the boys get in bed each night, we all hold hands and say a prayer together. When we were first starting out, Johnny or I would say it. Then as Michael got older he started wanting to repeat what we were saying. Then he got to the point where he wanted to say it himself. His prayer though is the exact same every single night. He says thank You for today, thank You for all You've given us, keep us safe all night long, thank You for our blessings, Amen. Every single time he has said the bedtime prayer that is what he has said...until last night. He got to the thank You for all You've given us and then said, please help Jackson to feel better (we had a playdate yesterday at Sunny's and Jackson wasn't feeling 100%). It just amazed me that he branched out from his norm and remembered that Jackson hadn't been feeling well. We hadn't talked about it at all that afternoon and he wasn't even in on the talking about Jackson while we had been there, he was busy playing. The fact that he had paid that much attention to what was going on and then thought to pray for him hours afterwards just blew me away. Johnny and I both grinned ear to ear when we heard him say this that he continued on with, please help me to feel better, I'm not as sick as Ryan though so please help him feel better too, please help my basketball goal to get fixed, then the giggles started and I had to finish the prayer.
Anyways, I just wanted to share that cause it made me so happy and proud of him to know that he was thinking of others and branched out from his normal prayer.

That is so sweet and neat to see that your kids actually are understanding what praying is all about. I just love seeing mine bow their heads and close their eyes...even if it only last one second. :) Thanks, too, for the comment on my blog. I've been meaning to stop by yours since I heard you had one at Bonco and keep forgetting. :) I'm adding you to my list. I am so glad ya'll are in Huntsville. It's been fun getting to know ya'll. I hope ya'll are liking it here and getting used to being somewhere new. Please let me know if you ever need anything or just have questions about being in a new place. :)
That is just absolutely precious! I LOVE hearing the prayers of little children. They are so genuine and honest! You definitely have some adorable little boys.
That's awesome! It's such a blessing to hear their little prayers. So genuine. Sometimes I wish we prayed more like they do in our times of worship, you know?
Our kids are getting introduced to a prayer life much earlier than I did when I was little. I love how you all hold hands, the girls squat down with their faces in their hands and bottoms in the air during ours, lol! How sweet this was and I love the giggles that followed...he prayed for his basketball goal- how cute!
