My Life in a Nutshell

Well, I've recently been introduced to the blogger world from some new friends at church and have decided to give it a try. I guess I'll start this thing off with telling you about my family.

I am married to my high school sweetheart for 7 years now. We started the on again/ off again "going out" phase or whatever it is called now, back in 1995....wow, I didn't realize it had been 13 years ago that we met. Anyways, we have had an amazing 7 years of marriage full of lots of fun times. When we married, he was in the navy and stationed in Goose Creek, SC (just outside of Charleston). He was in a nuclear power school there. After a year there, he graduated and was ready to start his "real" job in the navy. He got stationed on the submarine USS Norfolk in Norfolk, VA. After getting our move arranged for Virginia, we found out that the sub was going to be moving to Portsmouth, New Hampshire to go into the dry dock (basically they just pulled the thing up out of the water and gave it a complete overhaul). So, we changed all our plans from Virginia to move to Kittery, Maine....brrr! it was cold up there! We lived there for the next 2 years and had our first child there in March of '04, Michael Kross. Shortly after that, in July, we finally got that move to Virginia. Then in September of '05 we had our second child, Ryan Parker. When Ryan was 2 months old, Johnny left on his first, and thankfully only, 6 month deployment of his submarine life. After being on that sub for almost 6 years, he is now out of the navy and we are truly enjoying civilian life!! He has found a great job that he is really enjoying in Decatur, AL. We have a wonderful new home in Harvest, AL. We have found a great church home and are meeting lots of new and wonderful people. We feel so blessed to be where we are in life right now and thank God for all that He has done for us over the past 7 years.

Hey Amy! Welcome to the blogging world! I didn't know you and Johnny dated in high school. Sunny and I did, too (although just barely...our first date was on my last day of high school!)
Anyway, glad you've joined the blogging ranks. Looking forward to keeping up with you guys here.
And I still need to get Johnny to help me with those lights!

Ok, so I am realizing I have not read all your posts yet. Hard to believe it was like 10 years ago that we first met! Wow! How neat of you to start your blog with your story of you and Johnny!
