Pigeon Forge Vacation!!

Last Tuesday we loaded up and headed to Pigeon Forge, TN for a few days of non-stop fun!! We got there shortly after 4 and immediately headed over to Dollywood. My younger brother Chris is working there this summer so we were able to get complimentary tickets...Yeah!! Anyways, if you go after 3pm, you get to go in the next day for the same ticket. So, we stayed Tuesday until closing time (8pm) then headed to eat dinner and back to the hotel. Then Wednesday we got up and did Dollywood ALL DAY! The kids had a great time. They loved every ride they rode and even wanted to go on the big roller coasters....we're gonna have a blast at amusement parks when they get tall enough to ride everything. Then on Thursday we used another set of FREE tickets to go to Splash Country....again, had a great time. The kids loved the water. We rode one of the big water slides when we first got there before lines got too long and they begged the rest of the time to get back on it. We managed to keep them busy though with the kiddie areas and the wave pool and lazy river. I think we went around the lazy river at least 50 times. The first couple of times they were in their own float, but then we let them get out and just hold on to our floats. They really enjoyed jumping around and splashing everyone! Then Thursday night we headed off to the Dixie Stampede dinner show. We all enjoyed this. The show was amazing and the food was great. We bought 3 tickets (courtesy of Chris yet again!! What would have been over $100 cost us only $27) and were just planning on letting Ryan pick off of our plates, but our waiter ended up bringing Ryan out his own plate and piled it high with food as well. Needless to say, we had leftovers. They bring you out a whole chicken, a pork chop, a biscuit, bowl of soup, corn on the cob, half a potato and then an apple turnover for dessert. YUM!! We headed home on Friday, but not before stopping for a couple laps of go-karts and a trip to the Wonder Works museum (a.k.a. The Upside Down House). All in all we had a great trip, we were all worn out and slept most of the day Saturday, but well worth it.
Thanks Chris for all you did! We enjoyed seeing you!!!

That sounds like so much fun! You guys really know how to pack a trip full of activities! Good thing for the cheap tickets! I was wondering if Johnny was on a "no pictures of me" spree b/c they're all of the back of his head til the almost-last one!!! Glad it was such a great time for you to all have fun together!

Sounds like fun! Your kids are at a good age for a trip like that. We're definitely not quite there yet. :) That's nice you got the cheap tickets, too. That definitely helps. I love all of the pictures. Why is it that Mommy is usually the one taking all of the pictures and Daddy gets to be in all of them? That's the way it usually ends up in our house, too. I don't think daddies think about it like mommies do. :)
