Camping

So, I got a wild hair last night and decided to do something out of the ordinary. I made a "tent" in the living room floor and let the kids sleep in there. They loved it!! They weren't pleased with my tent at first....they wanted me to go get the real tent out of the garage and put it up in the house. Thankfully they quickly warmed up to blankets and chairs for a tent and were ready to play. They laid in there and watched a movie and had popcorn before going to sleep. Hopefully soon we'll be able to take them on a real camping trip....they are dying to go!

They look so sweet in their tent all asleep! I'm sure that they had a blast getting to camp out in their living room. I love that our kids are at this great age where we can do fun stuff like this with them. I know that these are the memories that they will cherish as they get older!

How fun, Amy! I was just telling Ben the other day that I want the do that with our kids when they get older. When we were little, we made tents in the den, which we loved, and we made "pillow pallets". That's what we called them. We would get all of the pillows in the whole house and spread them all across the floor so they were all touching. Then, we would spread blankets across them and watch movies and have fun and then go to sleep. You're making fun memories with your boys than they will remember just like I do.

That's awesome! I laughed when you said "they weren't pleased with my tent at first"... so funny! like they were little inspectors standing there saying, "no, mommy...a little to the right...no, that part's not tall enough!" I'm sure they had fun...and i love the camo blankets...so 'campish'!!

So much fun!! We also used to make a tent in our living room like that. We were never allowed to sleep there the whole night but we enjoyed playing in it all day. Such great memories!
